  • GPU displacement "use object mtl" unsupported?

    since multisubtex is also unsupported, how can i displace an object that needs several different displacement maps? (its a brick wall with a different displace map for each brick.)

    Perhaps you can bake the entire mapping into a single bitmap with V-Ray Adv?

      no, that is not going to be possible, there are about 700,000 bricks in the wall. im using modelled bricks to avoid the tiling id have to accept with single texture based solutions.

      back to vray adv i go..

        Actually, since the displacement is tessellated on the CPU, the VRayMultiSubTex texture will work fine for displacement - see attachment.

          interesting! ok ill have to have a think about that.

          edit:

          in this case (it being done on the cpu) why does the "use object mtl" setting not work?
