  • Slave Timeout

When CPU rendering my slave doesn't have an issue. When I go to GPU/Hybrid, the slave doesn't connect due to a timeout. How do I fix this?

Do you have a GPU render spawner running? It's basically a V-Ray Standalone listening for render jobs, unlike the CPU that uses 3dsmax.exe in server mode. The GPU spawner uses TCP 20206 vs 20204 for the CPU, in case you need to allow it in a firewall.

The slave doesn’t have a GPU, but it should use the CPU, no?

It can use the CPU as a GPU device (that's what hybrid rendering is), but effectively that means you're using GPU/Cuda rendering, so you should treat it the same way you'd do if there was a GPU.

GPU render spawner, where do I find this? I don't see anything in the Chaos folder.

I found it! Searched GPU and it popped up.

Whenever I use progressive rendering and distribution rendering, my times go up. With bucket rendering, my time's go down as expected. I have a BOXX RenderPro 2 as my slave, not like that should matter much. What could possibly cause this? With DR off I am seeing 1 hour times and with DR on I am seeing 1:45 hour times. My network is simply my wireless router. My wireless router is plugged into my modem, but it is also a 6 port hub.
