This is a feature that i've been asking for quite a while now.
The maximum HDRI size on V-R Dome ( v-ray GPU) is 8192 (memory efficient i guess).
Instead your CPU reads the full size of it.
So depending on your output size, it will be pixelated or not even if you take it up to 8192px.
Bear in mind V-Ray GPU doesn't affect how HDRI appears in reflections, in case you're willing to apply a backplate and cheat your background for high res outputs.Last edited by idnok; 16-02-2019, 01:12 PM.Regards,

Yeah, that was my workaround, but for an animation, it won't work and this is for animation.Bobby Parker

I think raising it to 8192 did the trick, thank you!Bobby Parker

I don't know, 4k in an hour is pretty fast. This will eventually be an animation, so in post-production might be more of a challenge.Bobby Parker

Funny you said that. That's my usual workflow, but based on a previous post, I was told that was an odd way to light a scene .Bobby Parker

In any case, we should do internally the same thing (we do it for the CPU anyways). I'll make a note about it.
