  • Pixelated environment background

    Hi,

I shot a detailed panorama at 16000x8000 and try to use it as background image (JPG). But in GPU mode only I get a downscaled version shown, no matter what I set at the GPU textures settings (V-Ray for Rhino). In CPU mode anything looks like expected. I hope it's a bug only and the env image should be shown in full resolution. What do you think?

    Hello, Micha,

Do you use a Dome Light to project the image, it is slotted in the Environment Background slot or applied it to a surface?
Would you be able to share with support@chaosgroup.com a simplified scene set up as the one you've illustrated?

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Your questions leads me in the right direction - I have overseen that light domes are using a texture size option. It was at default 512. At 16000 it works. What do you recommend, is it a problem to use this option at high counts?

        It should be fine.
