  • Out of Core LImitations

    I was experimenting with Out of Core, but I noticed the warning about VRayDirt and other raycast nodes not working correctly. Is there ever a possibility of this working? I know these things slow down CPU with dynamic geometry as well.

    In VFX we are so often dealing with crazy complex scenes that it can be difficult to fit them into even the biggest GPU's memory.

    Out-of-Core is a "work in progress" still and is missing quite a few fundamental features. Hence the WIP tag :P
    But we're working on it very hard. Dirt and Rounded Corners will be supported in the final version when we remove the WIP tag. So will OptiX.
    We're also improving the On-demand texturing system to a fully ouf-of-core texturing system. So stay tuned for more

      Awesome! Thanks for the update on this. I was really hoping the Dirt and rounded corners limitation was just a WIP thing.
