  • Cuda Error 700 messages again

I feel like this issue comes up about once a year. Got a scene that just won't batch render past 20 or so frames at a time before crashing with a Cuda Error 700 message. Quite frustrating in this scene as I have dynamic objects that can't be cached so if I restart my render there's a jump in the objects as the simulation is different. Basically I need the shot to render start to finish in one go.
Don't seem to be anywhere near the memory limit of my cards when rendering so it isn't that. This might be happening on other scenes as well but I don't actually have time to check at the moment.

Found another post that recommended using DDU to uninstall and reinstall to the latest Nvidia driver which I've done, hasn't fixed the problem.

Currently trying to archive the scene so I can upload if needed.

    Running latest recommended driver 457.09
Vray 5 for Maya hotfix 1
    Windows 10 64bit
    Maya 2020.2
    Rendering with 1080tis

Do send the scene to support@chaosgroup.com so we can take a look. Mention this thread in the e-mail as well.

Already sent. From memory this happened a while ago when I upgraded to the newer recommended drivers, so I might try rolling back to older ones in the meantime

Appear to have resolved this by rolling back to driver 419.67 instead of using the current recommended one. I've just wasted about 3 days trying to resolve this. Pretty frustrating that the recommended driver appears to be causing the issue

          Same here,
Ater 30,40 sometimes 50 or 60 frames on same scene/same camera.
Tried many different Nvidia Drivers recomended , latest , even the oldest supporting RTX 3090
Can't really upload the scene file as it is more than hundreds of Go of data (Flip simulation, Forest pack proxies/textures etc.. ) but I also tried on a simple test scene (I didn't save) and by reading this thread it does seem tohappen on any scene anyway

GPU is an RTX 3090 24Go of Ram

          Thanks
