  • Vray 5 GPU Update Version 2.1 - Shadow Catcher Issue

Does anyone have this issue where geometry touching the shadow catcher plane,
seems like there is 1px wide empty space occurs when the image is denoised ?
Im uploading the project file as well.
I have tried using both methods i know of where i changed Alpha contribution from Vray object prop. & from creating a VrayMtlWrapper and overriding alpha cont. from there.
Is it a bug or am i doing something wrong? Could someone help please ?

Hi you are right there is something going on with the denoised image. I did a few tests and it seems the alpha channel is what gets broken.

I tried to switch to custom denoiser and set it like this:

It seems to resolve the issue with alpha channel:

Hi it turned out that currently the VRayDenoiser disturbs the alpha shadow from a matte surface. The issue is logged under VMAYA-10897 for developer review.
