  • V-Ray GPU and DecalMtl

    Hello everyone.
I came across a strange thing: I have decalMtl that I use on the glass wall. It is half transparent and there are object behind the wall that you can see through the glass and the decal. When I'm using CPU to render - everything is fine. When I switch to GPU - the objects get projected onto the decal and you can't see the objects through it either. I played with the glass material, with the decalMtl settings, positioning etc. - no difference. Is it because DecalMtl isn't working with GPU properly or am I missing something? (I'm very new to GPU rendering so I'm hoping I'm just missing something in the settings there).
Thank you, I appreciate any ideas.

This is a bug on the GPU side, we have a fix for it now in our internal builds, is it possible to upload a simple version of your scene?
We will test the fix we have with your scene, I will report back to you here

    Thanks!

    Best,

Thank you for letting me know.
Here is the link to the scene (I tried to simplify it but it is still a large file ) https://dropmefiles.com/6d2kP
I'm very grateful for your help and willingness to look at it. Hope this helps you with this bug.

      Best,

      Nina

            Hello Martin,
I did get the email and responded to it.
What kind of details would you like?
BTW I'm having the same issue in another scene as well.
Also - the glass material with bump isn't rendering the same way than with CPU (I don't know if those 2 issues are connected but I thought maybe they are since both are about something added to the glass mtl)
