  • Vray 6 Update 1_ Exclude object from Override doesnt work

    Hello,
I ve just upgraded to the latest version of Vray for GPU (6.01.00 Build 00000) and the override mode doesnt work as previously. It must be a bug.
    I run 3ds max 2021 and windows.

Seems to work on my end. Are you using CUDA or RTX? What kind of object are you trying to exclude? Does it work CPU?

So confusing. I switched to CPU andback to GPU, and it suddenly works.
      Btw, I used RTX mode

Hi I am also testing this issue. On my setup, the exclude does not work with include/exclude list and does work in the other modes. I tested RTX and CUDA, both behaive the same. I am using V-Ray 6 update 1 with 3ds Max 2021.

          Hello,

We also have some trouble with this feature at the studio.
It don't work, then it work. IPR seems to be less stable than production rendering for the exclude feature.
It's seems excluding by ID is more stable than excluding by name.

I'm sorry to not be able to give you more details, we didn't had the time yet to push more tests around this issue.

          OS : Win 10
          3DSMAX : 2023.3
          Vray : 60100

          Best,
          Nicolas

Thanks. It does indeed seem to be fixed, but now it seems render region is broken and doesn't work instead.

Hi, render region works without issues on my end in a simple scene. Could you share a bit more details about your test? What do you have in your scene and could you send it for review?

I was about to provide some details, but then I discovered why its not working.

If I use the resolution override in the vray camera, then render region does not work. I can kinda see why this might be the case, but this is not ideal user experience I would argue.

Hi, this is actually a bug. It is happening only with V-Ray GPU. I reported it under VMAX-13203 in our system.
