  • Gpu interactive rendering does not have the same quality when i render for the first time

Hello, how are you I have a problem, when I press the render button for the first time with a noise of 1.0 it shows a decent quality, then I go to frame buffer and start interactive render and the image quality drops immediately I leave you some images .

    Greetings !

    Hi, thanks for posting.

when I press the render button for the first time with a noise of 1.0
Are you using IPR with that "first press"? What happens of you try to lower the noise threshold? Do you get better quality than the one in you example?
What versions of V-Ray and host platform are you using (is it 3ds Max)?
Are you experiencing the behaviour described in your first post in any scene, even a new simple one or just in a specific scene?
What is your GPU device model and are you using RTX of CUDA for the examples above?

I am using vray 6.2 in 3ds max 2024, my graphics card is a 4090, I am rendering only with GPU. The 2 images are with the same amount of noise, when you hit it for the first time with 1.0 noise it looks very good, it reaches that noise level and the interactive render stops since it has already reached the noise level of 1.0. Then I start it again and it loses all the quality and the noise is immense, it is not the same noise level as the first time.

Hi, the noisy image looks more like noise threshold of 1. The default value is a lot lower so it could be catching the lower value with the first render. Make sure you stop the IPR, change the noise thresh value, hit enter and then start IPR again - the noise threshold change does not trigger IPR restart.
This is how it works on my end:

If the above does not help please proceed to test a simple scene on your setup and let us know how it goes.

          Hi sergio_latorre

When using Interactive rendering make sure the Post Effects rate is set to 0, and use the least amount of render elements. There is also this thread we have on interactive rendering, you might find some helpful tips on getting the best performance out of your GPU
In multiple scenes here I'm testing the quality between Production rendering and Interactive, I don't see a big difference like what you have in the screenshot. Would it be possible to upload the scene for us?
We need to reproduce this behavior on our side with the same GPU

          Best,
