  • Long loading every frame

    Using CUDA.

    Rendering a large animated mesh, in this case Tycache as an edit mesh, depending on poly count, every single frame it takes 6+ minutes to load the frame, sometimes longer, while the render itself takes a few minutes.

    So it's 2-3x ing the render time in total.

    RTX starts much quicker, but cant handle the higher poly count once I up the subdivs.

    Tested the same with Redshift, the same geo loads almost instantly each frame, while the actual render time seems a little slower but overall the whole process is way faster as it doesn't have the loading time.
    Ive never used Redshift before, so there are probably efficiencies to be gained still to have an even quicker sequence overall

    Any workarounds ? Assume this is a common scenario

    Arnold also loads and starts rendering almost instantly

      Hi, do you have this slow loading with every scene you have tested? Please send us one of your scenes that reproduce the issue for review. You could do that here or through the support contact form.

        No, not every scene, specific to this one.

        Based on my testing, its an issue with the Tyflow cache.

        Unsure exactly what, and don't understand why Redshift and Arnold have no problem rendering it, they both start immediately and render the sequence very fast.

        Ive attached a screenshot of the error from the VFB, think this is the culprit for Vray, no idea what it means or what its referring to.

        I have also posted this in Tyflow forum.

          Ive fixed this error, while I believe it has some impact, it is not the only culprit to the long prep time.

          Testing further things, and will prep a sample scene

            A sample scene will be very helpful, we have a change in internal builds that could make this work better.
