  • Using VFB in Composite mode makes my image darker

    Hi,

I've got a very simple setup in the VFB where I use "Composite" to layer just 2 render elements - RGB color and VrayDenoiser. Both using "Normal" blending mode. When I render an image from scratch (all render channels cleared with "Clear image", the rendered image is substantially darker than it should be. If I turn on and off any of the Composite layers, the exposure becomes correct again. This happens with the CPU engine as well, if I remember correctly. Am I doing something wrong?

Attached below is a video I recorded that hopefully demonstrates this clearly.

Don't add the denoiser to the composite, only RGB.

what if you wanted to just denoise certain areas, using a mask?

You can add masks to the denoiser layer.
