  • Bump Maps in RT (look bad)

Why is it that bump maps have less perceived depth and look flat in RT? Bitmap bumps obviously. When in CPU RT mode, or in the regular renderer, they look fine.

I've also noticed random gamma shifts in active shade with RT.

    Active Shade
    Vray 2.40.04
Nvidia Geforce GTX 680 (newest drivers)
    Engine Type: Cuda
Resize Textures: on or off makes no difference in the look of the bump.

    Hi,

Yes, there is a little difference between the CPU and GPU bump renderig, which is already reported to our developers.
I'm attaching a simple screenshot for this.

Do you have any render examples just to be sure that this is the same case?

      Thanks Tashko,

Yes it is the same in my case. Although, I'm not running 3.0 yet. Still 2.4

      Thank you,

In this case in particular, it is probably because of the "resize textures for GPU" option. Turn it off and see if it makes any difference.
