  • Opacity map not correctly supported

    Hi,

Is opacity map not correctly supported for VraRT GPU ?
Where the object should be cutted out by the map, it displays the environment colour, so it cuts out through all objects in the scene, not just through the object I have applied the opacity map on.

I see VrayMtl is fully supported if I look at the features list: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...orted+Features
So I suppose the opacity map should be correctly supported as well.

The VrayMtl actually is not fully supported - most of its features are supported indeed but not all of them.
Opacity Map however should work properly and it should cut out only through the object where it is applied, all the objects behind should be rendered properly.

If you have any issues on that regard please send us a sample scene for investigation.

The metal part is having an opacity map. In the areas where the object should be cut out, you can see the environment background color - i can change the environment background color to anything and i can see it through the opacity map.

I have opened a ticket and sent you the scene.

      Thank you.

      Regards,
      Peter Istrate.

It seems there is a bug which is caused by camera-clipping and opacity mapped objects.
The issue only persists if the camera-clipping is turned on.
We'll add the bug into our system and we will let you know when we have updates about it.
