  • Opacity maps in render elements

    Hello all,

Recently I have started using Vray RT for interactive rendering and started experimenting with possibly using it for production renders. While testing relevant features I noticed some render elements do not consider/inplement opacity maps in their pass. This is holding back Vray RT as a production render quite badly. The render elements in which I experience this problem are the MultiMattaElement, VRayExtraTex_Map (dirtmap) and the ZDepth. It is probably present in more elements but I have not tested them all. The Alpha and Global Illumination elements rendered just fine with the opacity in the same render.

Is there a setting I am forgetting or is this an issue with the renderer itself?

Can you get me an example scene?

    Best regards,

Of course, had to build a quick scene due to the problem occuring in a project which I can't post. Attached the scene and a simple opacity map in the post.

      Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'm using 3ds Max 2016 with Vray RT 3.20.02

Been a while since the last update here but is this issue getting nearer to a fix?

                  Hi,

Not yet unfortunately. We won't forget to update this thread when the fix came out.
