Hello,
I've been noticing a lot of curious dropouts in alpha channels while comping and had to get to the bottom of it.
It's GPU only. Materials with a low IOR (by low I mean 1 - 1.7ish ) are getting faint dropouts in the alpha channel.
These are materials with no Opacity or Refractive values at all, so should be 100% solid.
EG: Super simple scene, ball on plane: VRayMtl IOR 1.45 (plastic) Reflection Glossiness 1.0
It's very subtle as you can see, but is causing issues.
Note: it's more obvious when there are no enabled lights in scene (that exaggerates the problem!)
low priority stuff, and I have a workaround (doubling up the layers in comp and fringe removal unerneath). Just thought I'd better post the observation.
