    Our in-house post pipeline is pretty much built around using V-Ray blend materials and material select render elements to store the blends sub-materials to be used in comp. The lack of this feature is one of the main reasons why its not currently viable for us to move to GPU unfortunately.

    It would be great to know if this is planned and if so, when are we looking at having it implemented?

      Thank you, I appreciate the reply. For internal planning, it would be good to gauge a rough time-frame for this one, if at all possible?

        Hey brobins

        Just a note that this will work (with some limitations) on the GPU with LPEs.
        You can add light path expression labels to your materials and then use the LPE preset for material select.
        The general limitations (apply to cpu and gpu) are that emissive and wrapping materials won't work, f.e. LightMtl, WrapperMtl, RenderStats, etc.

        Will this workaround be useful for you?
        I'm trying to fit your request in the GPU roadmap if the workaround will not help
