  • option to view a close up 2d map for vr scans

    Hi,

I often need to preview the shader balls to see if the plastic or leather grains match what the asset needs. This is sometimes hard to do using the current shader balls. Would it be possible to get a 2d map included that shows the bump / normal / displacement to be able to quickly review the kind of grain in the shader? Black plastics can be hard to see whats going on until youve got three clicks in to a close up of the shader ball. Id love to be able to switch the main browse screen to a 2d map and see a close up of the grains. Itd make opening 20 different black plastics and viewing them close up one at a time unnecessary.

We have internal tool, able to preview in runtime the scanned materials, but is not still officially acessible. For now the only solution is to see the large renderers in the library.

Ok. Hopefully we will get access to those preview 2d scans, because on some of the more subtle fine grained leathers and plastics I just dont know what the grain looks like, and I need to be matching client reference as close as possible. Its not really practical to download and test everything just to see if the grain is suitable or not.

If you need to see the preview before the downloading, our tool would be not in help, i think there is a 2k rendering of each library material that appears when you click on the image (can't try right now)
