Just wondering how you guys handle tiled textures? for example i have a stone wall with a tile stone texture on there, and to be honest it looks rubbish due to it obviously being a tiled image..what do you guys do to make it look more unique and real?
Re: Advice on tiled textures
can you post a pic please , thread without pic are useless. you need good textures, jpegs, try Arroway-textures or other good for high resolution pics. you need a bump & displacement to get realistic results
Re: Advice on tiled textures
Arrowway all the way - best texture site I have ever seen. They are also very generous to post lower res maps on their site for free. The low res versions work great in SU. You also have the option to buy some of the maps singularly for something like $5. These are ultra high res and render amazingly.
