So I updated to the latest version 2.7.2+23714 from 2.6.2+15363 which as been the most stable for my use until today.
There appears to be an issue as when i render without “automatic naming” enable i don’t get an option to name my file as before and enscape auto names my file… Further more, when I select render the batch render window appear (I suppose this is new honestly not a fan but, okay) and I select the scene i wish to render why doesn’t it default to my default folder location? Please tell me I’m missing something as this update has many more clicks and I don’t have the option to name my file.
I like to be able to overwrite previous renders so that my PS comps auto update with my changes. Having to manually rename my files after a render is not desirable.
okay - so i found my issue…
Enscase UX UI devs please fix this.
The new render image window that appear after i click render is very very extremely misleading. I was under the impression that i need to select the scene that i wish to render. Not knowing that this new window is for batch rendering. Which in most cases I don’t need but i can appreciate the feature. There is no indication that i could just click render without making a selection which then would allowing me the ability to name my file.
very misleading… please annotate this window better.
maybe with select multiple scenes for batch rendering or just click render for single. IDK - something.
@jtubb , please feel very free to give our latest preview a try, we overhauled the screenshot rendering system when it comes to the UI and we’ve also resolved almost 60 smaller issues which were generally present in the current release overall.
We’ll also release Enscape 2.8 officially rather soon, so you can also wait until then, however you like, in any case the UI should (will) be more intuitive in that version or the preview.
Feel free to please share any feedback with regarding this subject or in general!
Thanks Demian - I’ll give it a look. I tend to be a turtle when updating software app. Especially during large project cycles. I’m looking forward to the 2.8 release.
Understandable. You’ll get notified for sure either via the Forums or Enscape itself when 2.8 is out - and if you haven’t already, check out what has been added to our previews so far, those features will of course also then be available in the full release:
