We are rendering a complex animation of a building with objects moving abd soe glass and metal.
The problem is that when we render it we have random artifacts like splotches or black triangle
I have to say that geometry is ok we checked it many times.
We tried different settings with light cache and reflections.
We also tried rendering with bruteforce.
we tried removing reflections .
Problems are still there
Unfortunately as we have to deliver the work the only solutions was to re render the frames with artifacts.
If you render them
as a single render with the rendering to picture viewer they comes out well without any problem…
Also no artifacts are visible during the preview, only when you render the take with frame range.
Any tips, this problem made us lost nearly one week without finding any solution?
Hey @spigolo , I’m sorry you are experiencing such problems, but based on your input I can not give many hints. Here are some things you can try:
1. Try to isolate which object exactly causes the artifacts. One way is to use Object IDs for different parts of your scene and check the IDs in the dedicated Render Channel.
1.2. Another way is to try and disable parts of your scene until you find the culprit.
2. Try forcing dynamic geometry for the rendering (Render Settings → V-Ray → Settings → System → Default Geometry → Dynamic).
3. Are you having morphing geometry or simulations? Try to cache anything which might dynamically create geometry between frames.
4. Since you are mentioning frame ranges - are you rendering your animation from the beginning or are you specifying just a range of frames to be rendered? If it is the latter - try using the “Force Pre-Roll” option (located in Render Settings → Output).
5. If you can send us the scene (or a reduced version of it, which reproduces the issue) - we might investigate it further. Please open a support ticket.
Additionally - can you provide some more details on your setup. Like:
1. Which versions of V-Ray and Cinema 4D are you using?
2. Are you using V-Ray or V-Ray GPU?
3. Is your scene using simple geometry or it uses some more complex V-Ray types (e.g. VRayClipper, VRayDecal, VRayFur, VRayEnmesh)?
4. Are you using additional plugins to generate the geometry?
i did point 1 but this didn’t solved the problem as objects with problem have no issues.
No morphing or simulations or plugin.
Will try point 2 and the preroll
when I deliver the work I will open a ticket and send a reduced version of the scene.
Thank you for the report. 1/ Rotate or move the camera—sometimes rotation of less than a degree can solve the issue. 2/ Although it has not been recommended for years, you should still switch from “Adaptive” to “Full light.” There is a chance your light setup will exceed the default render settings value of 8.
