Any workaround to avoid strange shadows ?
@Demian_Gutberlet As you can see I’ve resolved the black spot in the corner already a bit by using a rectangular light. Not for 100% . Still far better than without one.
In attachment a render without a rectangular light into the corner.
@Demian_Gutberlet / anyone a workaround for this outcome pls ?
Thank you so much FabianoZacche for sharing
with all the respect for the multitude of well-made workarounds to conceal this Enscape-shortcomings.
This effort required on the user side for such a trivial problem is actually an affront and it’s inexplicable to me why Enscape (real time or not) doesn’t get a handle on it… ?
I do agree with you that this a problem that should’ve been solved ages ago. Lumion developers found a way to improve reflection even before RTX video cards were released.
@Demian_Gutberlet any lumion magic from which you can learn?
Pardon for my delayed response, but I also wanted to let you know that we added improvements to our reflections/mirrors with our latest Enscape preview 8 that just came out. Using this version should at least help with some of the shadow artifacts which were present in preview 7 and before.
Check out one of our comparisons in the main preview thread too:
And we’d love to hear your additional feedback of course if you have a chance to give this version a try.
No problem @Demian_Gutberlet .
Here are some renders with the latest beta v8;
-
I remark better reflection in mirrors. It’s getting better and better :)) still some work te do
-
Perhaps the extra raw calculations needed for better reflections is the reason why it lacks now - read SU crashes - after 1 or 5 max renders in 3800px aka 4K. Still surprised about latest crashes. I’m having a RTX2080Ti which is even today, not the best, but a good card.
-
mirror sometimes to clear
-
reflections of metal water tab is much faded and looks like plastic in mirror
-
overall reflection is much improved - looking forward for next iterations - keep up the good work !!
