My (architecture) office is getting me a new laptop, primarily because it is ver slow/nearly impossible to run Enscape on my current machine once the project has advanced to have more detail & site context is included. Currently I am using a 2018 Macbook Pro (intel i7-7820HQ, 16 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 560). Their recommendation is the Dell 15” XPS (intel i7 or i9 option, 32 GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1650ti).
Does anyone have experience with the NVIDIA GTX 1650 ti/this laptop with regard to Enscape performance?
I personally have MBP 16" and had XPS as well. If 3d modeling and rendering is the primary purpose, I’m afraid you are looking at completely wrong options. You are spending top dollars for thin/light enclosure, not graphic performance at all.
There are quite a few threads all ready discussing which laptops are appropriate, which you can easily search. Even older threads will give you the right idea which aspect of the laptop you should focus on.
Great your company is willing to spend money for your productivity. Hope you get to spend it wisely.
A 1650ti will not get you all that far. If price, weight, brand are factors you’ll need to specify those constraints. But for straight-up “best” you should be looking at somewhat larger 17" gaming laptops with a 3070 or 3080 GPU.
Gygabite AERO 15 OLED (or not) YD - 3080 has very good thermal, but agreed with earlier comment, take a thicker (cheaper) laptop, no point having 15mm of a beautiful hot mess ( like Razer)
