Can't edit light fixture

I can’t change the finishes, or remove parts of this Enscape pendant lamp. For example, I want to change the brass top canopy to chrome; it won’t change. I change the finish and Sketchup indicates it is changed, but when I render it, it reverts to original finish. Also tried to remove the top part (ceiling canopy), and it showed that it was gone in Sketchup, but when I render it in Enscape, it’s still there. Here I did test and imported it again; canopy is gone and I painted the stem pink. But when I render it, the canopy is still there and it has original finishes. Thx.

@corosketch , it’s not possible currently to change the appearance of our Assets, but there’ll be options coming with 3.3, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, I’m sorry if this was causing some confusion, but feel free to also forward your wish to be able to change the materials of our Assets entirely to our product management team through our Voting Portal. Thank you!

Thank you. I read an Enscape FAQ about editing asset materials but realize now that FAQ was under questions about the Custom Assets library.

But I did just find a great-looking Enscape plant asset (philodendrum). And made my first video. It looks like Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride at this point but I like it a lot!

I’m new to real time rendering. I know I can do a video in Enscape. But it still is really mind-blowing to me that I can travel around in a RENDERED model to look at areas as I am working on them. Traveling around in a RENDERED model is amazing to me.

The simple fact that you can’t edit the light power and light source in the lamp assets etc. is really annoying.

Having to place lights inside assets blindly is incredibly complicated and time consuming.

At least, provide objects that directly integrate the light sources.

That is the plan and something which we’re looking to implement soon! Stay tuned for further updates as always.

Great !

Don’t get me wrong. I love Enscape and look forward to future updates.
