Choose camera type from VRayCamera instead of the Render setup

Add independent orthographic option to VRayCamera. Just a checkbox in vraycamera settings. Or please make a “projection&vr” options like corona camera.

Hi, we do have such an option in our render settings - Camera rollout. Can you tell us if this one works for you? And if it doesn’t suit your needs, what would you like to change? Thank you.

We also have a spherical 360 camera there and many other types.

Thanks for reply, but the option in render settings - Camera rollout is an global setting, which will affect all cameras in the scene. What I suggested actually is a per camera option. For example, if I need set batch rendering (camera A for orthographic top view, camera B for perspective angel)in a scene, I can use an checkbox or menu in camera’s own settings to control whether it is orthographic or not.

So you would like to have only the ortho, or the other types as well? Would you expect to see the ortho effect in the viewport or just seeing the result in the render is enough?
How would you expect the settings in the camera to interact with the ones in the Render settings?

  1. As far as i am concerned, only the ortho is enough, but it’s better to have the other types. 2. Both. 3. Like “Resolution Overwrite”(a checkbox). Or just copy “Type” in Corona Camera’s “Projection & VR”. Thanks

Probably, we could do something similar, but a representation for each type of camera in the viewport would not be possible due to the host-app limitations.

So for the ortho projection in the viewport to work (meaning: displaying the same render area as the actual render) the native 3Dsmax physical camera would also have to support such a feature? Maybe it’s also worth a try to push it at the Autodesk forum then?
