computer problems

Hello,
I have a problem with my computer. I built it last year and it have been doing good al since until today. It does not start, not even some noice like “pip” - silent death.

I have tried out some things:

MB indicate power with the green LED.
shortcut of the ATX cabel - fans spinning.
shortcut of the Powerswitch- nothing happens.
Removed the ram, graphiccard, cd, battery(MB) - nothing happens.

So is it the MB or CPU?

Wouldn´t it start but with some noice if anything was broke?

What do you think?

This sounds very much like when my mobo died, I pressed the start up
button, power light would come on etc, but nothing would happen, no
beeps, nothing.

I tried all my components in one of my other computers too see if they
worked ok, which they did, which eventually narrowed it down to the
mobo, replaced it and bobs your uncle.

This souds exactly like when my antec true power 12v eps died… Mobo led was still working, also the fans, but no beep, nothing. Just try out another powersupply before changing the MB!
Regards, Michael

Thank´s!
Ok I will see what I can found in my old boxes… A new PSU would be much easier. But could it realy die like that, from one day to another and still suply the LED?

I need some files from that comp, but it uses SATA disk and all my other boxes are IDE`s. Is there some way to connect SATA whitout SATA ready MB?

It was the PSU, seems like thier have been a lot of mailfunctions with Antec Truepower. I bought Tagan Easycon 530W, with some realy nice and flexible cabels… This is what you turn out to after spending to much time at dedicated hardware forums…
