Hi i tried to find out on the Internet something about it, but couldnt solve my problem.
Im tryind to use for example the LayeredMaxTex plugin in maya bu i dont know how to plugin different textures and each one with different percentage and mixing them together.
The point would be to use the same max node about layeredtextures (cause maya havent the same options) and plug different textures as layers with different values, as i would do in max.
It would be better to use the VRayLayeredTex instead. It will do the same job and has the same options, but also has the dedicated UI needed to create all the dynamic layers, blend them, mask them and so on.
Nodes from plugin in V-Ray are automatically listed and you can create any node this way, but their UI is also automatically populated with generic controls for attributes (unlike natively integrated nodes like the VRayLyaredTex that have the special UI controls). This means that some of them that don’t require a special type of data (like a list of layers) are easy to use, but some (like the one in question) are impossible to use. I hope that this helps.
i was getting crazy with that one. Im 3.604 vray user and cannot find the VRayLayeredText you talking about. Also what i really need is the average blending mode for layers.
Sorry, I missed the part about the V-Ray version. You’ll need V-Ray Next to use VRayLayeredTex, it wasn’t available in 3.6. The other available option would be to use the Maya layered texture.
