I consider this a really important feature!
Its a huge hassle to run around to start the renderslave on each machine every day!
Is there a solution? Please anyone?
Im lost
Can you please tell us what version of Mac OS you are running? Log files will also be helpful. You can find them in /tmp/vraymayaslave2010/. Where ‘2010’ must be replaced with your version of Maya. In the pid file is written the pid of the slave process. So if you type in a console “ps -p 128” (where 128 must be replaced with your pid), you must get information about the process if it is really running. Also, after installation, the service will be started next time your computer starts (or after log off/log on I think).
Yeah, you have to start the slaves manually on all Mac machines. the do not actually register as a service. This is the same for the vrlservice.exe on my main machine. I have to start it manually every time my computer boots… hopefully we’ll get an updated vrlservice available soon…
