Enscape Asset Library

Hi - I just discovered the Enscape Asset Library  :?:

what is it and how do I get these models reasonably rendered instead of black and white only?
do I need an additional license for this content?

The asset library is available with the most recent preview. Once official released, we are going to provide with moren detailled information, a blog post on best practices and more. Just a little more patience

already read about the most recent preview version… still dont fully understand

my version

Plugin 2.3.18250.746

enscape version 2.3.3.0-ge2cbd22

went to the about window and klicked for the latest version…

still no 1)asset library and 2)no grass height function

what am i missing?

Hi @EGIESTO ,

the models should be rendered in full color and with textures, no additional license is required. This looks like something is wrong. Does this happen with other models in the asset library, too? Could you update to the latest preview version and check if the models are still rendered incorrectly without textures?

:whistling:

Hi & Thanks Stephan - Yes, this happens with all the models in the asset library - I’ll look for the latest update tomorrow and report back…

Hi - I have checked it now - all library contents do not render correctly but only in this raw version shown below.

My Enscape version seems to be the latest one?

Since I never really check whether this is so really, I ask you to check it by looking on the screenshot …

@EGIESTO Our current preview version is 2.4.0.322. You’ll find the link to our preview section in our download area on the bottom right.

Thanks! Installed the 322 but Asset is still nor working :?:

@EGIESTO Now that you’re working in our latest preview version, please send in feedback via the [Feedback] button of Enscape including the log files.

… done

The assets looks as if they don’t have any textures while working in Sketch up. Once you render, view port or in VR, the textures works correctly.

Most of the assets (trees/furniture/people) have a low-res proxy mesh when placed in SketchUp. However, the bushes are just a solid filled bounding box which makes their placement rather tricky. Is there any way to make them display as a wireframe box without turning the whole scene into wireframe mode?

hmm, updated Enscape this morning, as well as all the drivers are up to date, but still not working for me.
Small Asset objects work fine but all the trees and persons don´t …

Sorry, there seems to be a bug regarding some textures in this release. We will fix it asap!

question: I installed Enscape 2.4 and it seems the asset library is different that the preview version. When I try to look at model I created with those previous assets they do not appear in the Enscape window. Do I need to add different assets to the model or will the previous asset be added to the latest release?

The previous assets will not be added and only served as a preview to what will come. We will however vastly extend the Asset Browser in the next version (and following).

This is fine as long as the asset library does not change per the preview version. Now we need to replace previous assets with new.

I’m not sure why some of the objects from the asset library appeared to be boxes when placed in Sketchup model, but looked fine in the live view…

All the shrubs, bushes and flowers are just boxes; only the trees and people get the full ‘low poly’ treatment (currently)
