I’m hoping to use Revit at my new firm, which is a MAC based company, so i’m working through an Amazon hosted virtual workspace. I’ve downloaded Enscape into Revit, but it wont start. I’m worried that the Amazon Workspace does not support Enscape and will need to find another rendering platform. If anyone can provide insight I’d be grateful.
The virtual workspace is going to need some kind of GPU component, which likely isn’t part of the default setup, it would need some higher-tier configuration. It isn’t just an Enscape thing, any “real-time” rendering engine (D5, Lumion, Twinmotion) is not going to work on that setup. You might get VRay or some other CPU-based rendering engine to work but it will probably be pretty poor performance.
The path of much less resistance and better performance would be to get them to buy you a Windows laptop.
