Enscape VR on Quest 3 - searching for Head mounted Display

Hi Forum,

We’re experiencing issues connecting Enscape to our Quest 3. When we connect the Quest 3 via USB-C and pair it using the Meta Quest Link app, Enscape detects it without problems. However, when we pair the Quest 3 via Airlink (wirelessly), it is not recognized by Enscape.

Interestingly, when using Steam, Enscape detects the Quest 3 and works via Airlink as well, but the experience is still somewhat dodgy and its not great to run 2 programmes parallel when only 1 is needed.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? It would be great to leverage the full potential of a wireless experience, especially since this is often a key concern for clients.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @antsche_1 and thank you for the report of this behavior.

It sounds as if you’ve already set everything up properly when trying to use the Quest 3 wirelessly, but nonetheless please also make very sure that you’ve followed all the settings and other instructions provided in our dedicated Meta Quest 3 VR knowledgebase section here.

If you haven’t yet, you may also want to untether the Quest 3 from the machine you’re trying to connect wirelessly to, (a USB tether to another source of power should not be a problem of course) though I do reckon you’ve very likely tried that already.

Should the VR article and above not be helpful and you’ve setup everything accordingly as detailed within, then please definitely forward this behavior to our official support team as well as detailed here so that we can further identify where the problem lies exactly. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

I tried to solve the Issue by updating to v.4.3.0.1189. Now Enscpae only shows a black screen when plugged in via USB.

That is unfortunate to hear. In that regard please kindly reach out to the support team directly (as detailed here, ideally submitting a support report with logs right away) so that we can troubleshoot this behavior.

I am having the same issue after updating to Enscape 4.3 when connecting to Quest 2. Just a black screen.

I contacted support and the response I received was, Enscape doesn’t support your hardware, so we cannot help. This was very disappointing.

I have confirmed going back to 4.2 fixed the problem.

Is this a bug with 4.3? Or has support been removed?

Hi @calem - I’m afraid the Quest 2 is not officially supported by Enscape anymore at this point even if the headset may still work with a prior release like 4.2 to some extent.

We do still fully support the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive Pro 2 though, but in case you experience any issues otherwise using the Quest 2 there’s unfortunately not much we can do.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions in mind.

@antsche_1 - did you or support manage to solve your black screen error?

We installed the 4.2.1.88 again. Here everything works fine now. Even the Wifi connection. We changed to a static ip and the headset was found.
The Black screen error we couldnt solve. Thats why we went back to the old Version. Hopefully it will be gone in the next patches again…

Hi guys,

I’ve been an Enscape VR user for about a year now, never had any issues. I’ve been using Meta Quest 3 with a very smooth experience in all this time, using USB cable.

However I also experienced the black screen (of death).

Since I upgraded from version 4.3.0 I haven’t been able to connect my glasses (much less in version 4.4.0).

Thanks to @antsche_1 , I found that version 4.2.1.88 works perfectly. I even had to install Sketchup 2024 again.

and yes… I have followed the steps on the website perfectly: https://learn.enscape3d.com/blog/knowledgebase/using-virtual-reality-headset/#oculus

Please take VR users into account for the next update, by taking charge of this error, as well as allowing Enscape to run on SKP 2025!!!

Thanks

HI

I have to say that 4.5.0 Preview release has solved the problems with my VR headset.

Thank you.
