Error message from Sketchup 2023 when running Enscape on a Macbook Pro

Hello, I upgraded my Macbook Pro to an M2 Pro / 32gb / 12GPU / 19CPU.

I am running Ventura 13.6.2 instead of Sonoma 14.0, since Sketchup doesn’t support Sonoma which I was previously running and I thought the issue was because of this, but I am still getting this error message from Sketchup:

“Error starting Enscape. Enscape exited unexpectedly. Please restart Sketchup. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We are eager to fix the problem you’ve encountered, so please send us an error report. Your feedback includes the Enscape log files. This helps us to fix the problem sooner!”

I’ve tried contacting Sketchup support as well as writing within the Sketchup Forum.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I also wanted to add that Sketchup itself doesn’t crash when I get this error message, only Enscape.

Hi @sposada , thanks for your post and welcome to our Forum.

Regarding this error dialogue of yours at hand please try the following:

Perform a full restart to flush the UM of your Mac.

Once running, please use the Finder to navigate to

Macintosh HD → users → Enscape → Settings

once there please delete the file "settings.json" followed by another restart.

This file will then be created newly again when you open Enscape once more, which in turn should also resolve this problem.

Please test this and if this does not do the trick definitely also submit a feedback report as detailed here. Thanks a lot once more in advance.

Thank you, Demian! I did the above and it helped the issue for a few hours, but I received the same error message again today unfortunately.

I am sorry to hear that.

In order for one of our Mac specialists to look into this even further, please also submit that feedback report as detailed here, as per my previous reply.

It is appreciated and thanks a lot in advance.
