Since we have quite a few forums now, it may get tedious to browse through posts you may not be interested in, so we added the possibility to exclude forums from the “What’s New” search. To set this up, go to the Settings page from the top right-hand menu, then on the left in the “My Settings” group click the “General settings” section under My Account, scroll down and in the “Exclude forums from ‘What’s New’” list, select the sub-forums you do not wish to see. (Note that you will need to select the respective final sub-forums like “V-Ray for 3ds Max :: General”, not a whole group like “V-Ray for 3ds Max forums”).
If there are any issues with this feature, please let us know.
maybe its my browser or the feature isnt implemented yet, or maybe im slow today. Butttt in the box i click on the sub forum and nothing happens. How do i know its selected ?
You just need to select the sub-forums you want, like when doing a search. Also, you need to select a specific forum (like a ‘General’ or ‘Image uploads’ etc, not a group).
Am I missing something?
I only have My Profile, My Posts, User settings and log out in the top right menu?
In the user settings I can’t find anything related to "My Settings"or “General Settings” just stuff relating to my profile.
What’s New feature in vBulletin 5.0 doesn’t work the same way as in the previous version of the Forums and unfortunately it cannot be configured to show only specific sections of the Forums.
We managed to find a workaround to display from which Forums the posts are but we haven’t found such for the section management yet, hopefully will find a way to sort this out.
Hmm seems odd.. It wouldnt be a problem but there are so many irrelevant forums if you only use max and vray that the “whats new” is essentially a bit pointless at the moment. Hope there is a way to change this.
