I am a newbie. So, I used the milk preset to begin a simulation. I didn’t change anything from the preset except that I raised the outgoing velocity from 6 to 40 on the pheonix source. (If this is the problem, how do I increase the flow of milk?) The simulation is chaotic. It seems like everything is moving very fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In order to make the liquid move slower you can raise the Scene scale.
The Outgoing Velocity will make the liquid discharge faster.
Also, you can additionally increase the steps per frame, and it will make the simulation more calm and laminar.
Thanks for the information. So, if my models are built to real world scale, I still may need to make some guesses? If I get it figured out would a scale ratio work for other simulations like fire? Thanks again for the help.
It all depends on the look you are after. Sometimes the perception how something behaves is different than the reality.
Using a real world scale should produce realistic results but those are not always the prettiest.
Every simulation is different so you should test and see what works best for you.
Good point.
I am starting to get a better feel for the controls that were mentioned here and I appreciate the direction. In the video below, I have multiple renders at different stats. I have one more question regarding the activity happening at the bottom of the pitcher in the refraction/reflection area as it flickers. The first segment shows the viscosity all the way up to make it more like cream or paint. Not sure why this flickering is showing up, but I can understand why with the settings of the other renders as it seems it is producing alot of “bubbles” or pockets of no fluid. Its almost like the fluid is acting like mercury. I thought that the flickering would go away when I pushed the viscosity all the way up and added some sticky, but there is still a flicker. Maybe there is another contributing factore? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qsnQEglQvf0
Looks like a meshing issue to me. Is it possible to send us the scene so we can take a look?
You can attach it here or send it to support@chaosgroup.com with a link to this thread.
Thank you,
Maybe voxel type ? Make it more into the collider.
Yes, I will send that to you.
I checked the scene and your Mesh smoothing settings need a bit of tweaking.
If you increase your Liquid Particle size to 0.8 it should do the job for the setup you have sent us.
Just experiment with the settings to find what works for your case.
Thank you,
