Hi,
Looking at the gallery here and on other websites where people are using v-ray to render, the quality of the renderings are stunning.
I’m currently rendering using radiosity in Max 7 with Max’s default renderer and can’t get anywhere near those kind of results.
I’m wondering if all these fantastic images were rendered with the default scanline renderer in Max would the quality be completely different.
Basically I’m wondering if I got V-ray the quality of my models would go through the roof (obviously depending on how good they were to start with
).
Cheers for any info,
sure I think the quality would prolly be better, but thats a very subjective statement. Whats important is the speed, flexibility of vray.
thats the point.
in meaning of quality of immages, maxwell does a stunning job. better than vray i my opinion. but at least the artist is more important, and also the people here cant wait as maxwell user have to do for days for a smal grainy immage.
vray seems to be by fastest renderer at the moment with great flexibillity. and also with stunning quality.

In most of cases, you are only on the half way when you save the rendering from any renderers.
i have just started to muck around with vray, it blows the doors off final render i can say that much.
when there is a DR stable version im buying
im used to final render’s level of DR functionality, which is what im expecting with 1.5.
From what I hear you cannot control the slaves very easily, cannot auto send maps, having to make sure the other pcs already have them etc…
also animations arnt so easily done with GI maps not saving properly back across to the master, meaning if I were to do an animation i would have to do it in separate frames, and I just perfer not to.
Sure there are ways around this, and vrays speed over fr probably makes it worth while, but these ‘limitations’ are making me hesitant to buy RIGHT now, instead ill just see what 1.5 can offer me.
But in the end ill be joining you guys
