Glass with bubbles inside

I want to try produce some glass with bubbles inside. Also with light inside :sunglasses:
Something like on this photo. I have try a raindrop map or a noise map into refraction ior , but this
give me not the same result :(. So if someone push me in the right direction , thanks

Hi,

Is this a good real-world example of what you’re after?

Is the glass solid and are those just air bubbles inside?

Konstantin

This kind of setup can be created with scatter and some material work:

Hi Konstantin,

Thanks for your reply and the examples.
It should be solid glass with bubbles inside.
Now I have this. With light on and off.
It’s not 100% perfect , but it comes close to it .
Created a glass material as outside , and the inside is made with water drops material
and transparency. Vray5 + rhino 8

Could you please explain how you have don it ? It’s very good.:sunglasses:

Looks good.

Keep in mind that the bubbles should ideally use the inverse of the glass IOR.
If you glass IOR is 1.5 the bubble materials’ IOR should be 1/1.5=0.6666 .

Or you can share the same material but flip the normals of the bubble objects - in this case V-Ray will automatically calculate the correct IOR.

Another trick is to vary the bubble size slightly instead of keeping them all uniform. Even a little randomness in size and distribution tends to make the glass feel much more natural and less CG-perfect, especially in close-up renders.
