GPU: VrayLight Directional support

Is there any ETA on implementing the directional function on vraylights?

Yes, +1 on this…

Agreed!..+ 1.

I have a code review for this waiting for me to complete it, so it’s more or less done.

Best regards,
Vlado

That’s good news.

If you do have a code review about implementing IR on GPU, please take a few minutes for that one as well at the same time

Thanks

Yes, I do, since a while, but I’m hesitant to merge it into the master branch.

Best regards,
Vlado

heuuuu
Ah right, sure! What would make you hesitant?

In the mean time, can I have access to child build then? :stuck_out_tongue:

Just checking if the GPU VrayLight Directional support has made it to the nightlies yet.

Yes please… if not can you bump this feature up?

Not yet, we are still working on it. Should be fixed soon.

Please send us a request e-mail to support at chaosgroup.com

It seems there is no support for directionality in nightlies, at least not in stable builds.

That is correct, this feature is in progress but not completed yet.

Here’s a link to the Maya thread that has input from Blago and Vlado - it’s a good read about where things are with RT

Bump

Just checking.

No, not yet.

Thanks for the update Tashko. I just took a look at the Maya thread are the stochastic flakes in the 3ds Max nightlies too?

Yes, Stochastic flakes (in RT GPU) is available in the nightly builds for 3DS Max too.

I just loaded the latest stable nightie and its not available in GPU for Max.

eyepiz is right. It is available in the dev nightlies only … It will not get in the stable ones, since it is a major change.

Best,
Blago.

Thank you for including directionality support in nightly builds!!!
