Guassian Splats

Hello everyone!

I would like to ask a few questions about the new “Corona Gaussian Splats.”
After reading the help text on Chaos’s official website, I noticed that this feature only opens .PLY files.

This is where the problem arises.
To obtain a point cloud file, for example in the .xyz format, there are two open-source applications that can open these files and then export them to the desired .PLY format.

However, how should the .PLY file be opened/saved correctly?
In the Statistics section, Corona Gaussian Splats states that the file must be saved in binary format, but unfortunately it still does not open.

Does anyone have knowledge on this subject and can help me with this issue?

Thank you.

I think this article may clear your confusion: https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/articles/40500592119441-Understanding-the-Gaussian-Splat-PLY-formats

Instead of converting existing point clouds, you must generate Gaussian Splats from source images/videos using specialized software

OH!!! I see now. There is multiples PLY formats. And the Gaussian Splats get its specific ones. Converting a tradicional one into Gaussian can be tricky.
I was trying to use the tradicional method.

So, unfortunately for me Gaussian splats does not gets its place in my workflow for now.
Thanks for clarify
Cheers
