HELP!! - Error everything close when I try opening Enscape

Hi

I am opening Enscape from sketchup and it loads until 100% - then I wait and everything closes - i see a dialog box from sketchup “Bug Splat”. It only happens to certain sketchup files not all

and for one of them I returned on my file made 3 days before and the rendered works, but the most recent didn’t work.

Can you help with this?

using sketchup 2021

graphic card RTX3080

Enscape version 3.4.3+93121

I really need this to finish an urgent project cannot afford to lose hours on this!!

I desinstall this version and returned to the older one - didn’t work also

i have attach the log files

Thanks

So I read the log and saw that some material had error on them - I went into my model and fixed them all, now the log doesn’t say invalid material

but it still doesn’t work, now I had a new window pop up from enscape saying there was an error but wasn’t fast enougn to click send - so i am attaching the latest bug report.

I see that Embedded ofject doesn’t exist - but I don’t know how to fix this one

Help please

looks like the same problem maybe as me was this fix?

@leahheal , thanks for your report and welcome to our Forum.

Right away you can try disabling raytracing which can, depending on the scene and situation help:

If that makes no difference please definitely also submit a feedback report with your log files - Generally whenever you experience any crashing ideally submit said report right away as that transfers all the corresponding log files, crash dumps and machine information to our technical support team.

Afterward we can troubleshoot this further as quickly as possible.

Hi

I did that I took everything off and ran it again didnt help

Tk

I tried older files and found that files from nov 29th are working

And after that date nothing works

So it’s not my settings but maybe something in the file??

Thanks for your response, and sending in the report as inquired.

You may have seen the reply already, but one of my colleagues (Daniel Schüßler-Käferle) sent you the following 20 minutes ago:

And as mentioned, if you still experience these crashes afterward please kindly send in another feedback report with your logs again.

fix all of them and re allocated them - not working - still get the bug splat and everything closes - se latest log file

I sent you the log file for the last sketshup file dated dec 3rd that works, all other file after dec 3rd are not working

can you check the difference when it works and when it doesn’t so we can fix this bug, thanks

In that case definitely kindly keep staying in touch with our technical support regarding this issue. (as I’m also out of office today)

Thanks a lot!

Damian brings up a good point. Overall you need to reduce the geometry / material footprint of your project.

  1. Materials:

Your texture samples are too large and therefore using too much memory / processing for the use.

2.5 k brass texture?

4k napkin texture?

Nearly 7k towel texture?

7k ceramic texture?

Why are you using a 4k napkin texture that might only take up a few square inches of screen space on a 4k monitor? Reduce material samples to no greater than 1200px in one direction.

  1. Geometry:

Does your file contain lines in 3d? Imported 2D CAD files? Delete.

Does your file contain imported geometry? SketchUp objects are triangulated surface meshes. Plush, curved, organic shapes imported from non-native design applications (Max, Rhino, etc.) might be fine in a few instances but will cause problems when copied throughout a project.

You likely introduced materials / geometry to your project after Nov 29 that is causing the problem. You can narrow the offending content by turning off almost all layers and starting Enscape. Now start turning on a few layers at a time and observe if Enscape crashes. You’ll narrow down what components are causing the problem.
