Re: How to make default shadows (the one from sketchup) blurry ⦠???
Its pretty tough to make those default shadows blurry because they are from an infinite directional light source ( either the Sun system if you are using the physical sky, or just an infinite direct light otherwise ).
Generally you will want to use an area light to get nice soft shadows. I would suggest using a rectangle light for that.

Surely the sketchup shadow is from the sun. In vray, use the physical camera and the sun. Set the sun size multiplier to about 3 - result, soft shadows. Works for building size models - wouldnāt work for something small (just like the sun!)

(remember, due to a bug, untick āOverride Sunās parametersā, hit return and then tick it again, that usually does the trick).

Iāve never tried messing with the size multiplier to get shadow effects - learn something new every day ![]()

Thanks for replies
i thought that maybe theres a way to mess with the sketchup sun ;D

charek
When you render in vray, the sketchup sun becomes the vray sun, or at least forms the basis of it.
