If I change the intensity of a light in the new “Edit Lights” window, it doesn’t sync with the old “Enscape Objects” window, where you can also set the power of a light…
now that there’s a new window where you can set the light’s intensity, could you remove this slider from the old window?
I have a light that is simultaneously 100 cd in one window and 100,000 in the other?!?
Hi @Kiare , and thank you for your post and feedback.
The key point here is that the new “Edit Lights” (Light Presets) work separately from the original light settings in SketchUp / the Enscape Objects window:
Edit Lights only affects the active preset
Enscape Objects shows the original CAD values (which we don’t overwrite)
So it’s expected that you might see different values in both places. I hope that helps with understanding.
Thanks for the reply, but I find it strange that the lights can be set in two different windows, both in Enscape.
Don’t you agree?
They’re clearly not native SketchUp settings. At this point, Enscape provides two different ways to set the same light, and in my opinion, this isn’t convenient or efficient.
hi @Kiare you have three different ways to have light inside Enscape. From the asset directly and unfortunately you cannot change any light from it, from an emitter dedicated object that was created by the authoring tool (sketchup, archicad, revit…) or finally from a self illuminated material. So if you are changing the emitter, it is supposed to be the same as it is for the material. In archicad, changing material or emitter works both ways.
Light presets is not separated from the emitters but does not control materials. Hopefully in the future it will be to get it all centralized in terms of light. Also would be great that the Enscape assets with light materials, could be controlled for its light properties. It does not make sense to have all the light emitters off but the Enscape assets still are on…
