import dwg in max 5 eand max 6

If I import dwg files I can derive object by layer and it id very useful (for example table.01, table.02).

In max 6 when I import dwg object I have a sequence of PolyFaceMesh withot the name of the layer and withot a number.

I know that in max 6 there is a control of layer but it is simply max 5.

Is there a way to import dwg as max 5?
