hmmm…yea, I have been using LC second. bounces with all types of materials, it seem to be working for me…
Back to the original question, I lowered the LC to just 100, and now I am getting the right illumination level…
If I had to tell you, I would not know why it went back to “normal”…All I did was changing the size of the frame to lower res (800x) and lowering the LC form 500 to 100…
It is frustrating not to be able to predict the behaviour of the software, althought I am pretty sure it must be me…
I my tests (well those of a coworker) 1.47.03 and older LC does not work for secondary bounces but does for first. I suppose your standard mat items are only being lit by primary bounce GI.
I’d be happy if someone showed us we were doing something wrong.
EDIT: Hmm I can not recreate that now I’ll have to see what we did to get those appearent results. For now disregard
changed the frame resolution back to 2000 pix wide, and LC to 500, and the image is black again (very dark).
Vlado, is it possible that just changing LC subdivision and image resolution (and nothing else!) you obtain dramatically different light levels in the image?
