Hey all
I’ve just recently installed 3.4. and on the Max 2016 install I now have a Max crash immediately after the light cache starts. I have a feeling that this may be due to installing the most recent RailClone and Forest Pack beta. I’ve tried uninstalling Itoo products and reinstalling Vray, but 2016 is still broken. I tried Max 2017 and had the same issues, but a reinstall seemed to fix it.
Where would I find any error logs that would be helpful?
The V-Ray log file is in the temporary folder for the current user; you can go there if you type %temp% in the Windows Explorer. In addition to the vraylog.txt file, it may be useful to get us the file 3dsmax_minidump.dmp as well.

I’ve found the problem - Of the 10 render farm machines I use, one of them had the latest RC and FP betas installed, but was still running Vray 3.3.005. If this one machine was active in the distributed render list - then a hard crash would result. I guess I would have expected a “not responding” error perhaps. Anyways - all good now with the correct Vray installed. Sorry to bother you.
