Light Mix & vfb layers saved in .vrimg?

Is there a way to get light mix and and vfb layers saved into .vrimg?

Just tested this and they already are. Could you elaborate on what’s happening on your end?

Did a batch render through max. Did not save that stuff…

So i tried it with just a simple scene - saving the .vrimg directly from the buffer instead of it being saved through batch render and I still get the same thing. See attached

The LightMix created VRayLightSelect elements are essential for the functionality to work, meaning only multi-channel files have this editing capability. Tested both regular and batch rendering with multi-channeled .vrimgs and the LightMix is correctly saved.

That makes total sense.

I can save all that stuff/elements into a single file from the vray frame buffer and it all comes in just fine.

This may be out of your hands since it’s max related, but I can’t get any elements into one single exr or vrimg through 3ds max batch render…

It’s a 3ds Max thing. However, if you output through V-Ray (ticking V-Ray raw image file), the multi-channeled file will be correctly saved in Batch (to avoid double output, simply leave the Output path in the Batch Render dialogue empty).

Got it. Thanks for your help, Aleksandar.

If so - and if I have some renderers - how do I prevent the next file (vrimg) from overwriting the previous file?

Frame number is automatically added to the file name - so the next frame won’t overwrite the previous.
