If it doesnt take your full amount of ram then it doesnt need to … windows need’s around 200meg to run .. then you have all the background stuff … Be thankfull that its not taking all your ram … If it does then vray will probably crash !!
Thanks travistlo > how do i do that. In the Task Bar or in Max options.
natty > I agree when i can check that bg stuff and all that i can see the performance. But its say about 80 is for MAX. but when rendering its shows 400 mb. Is it if i start some applications then MAX will take more Memory. NO PLEASE I DONT WANT VRAY TO CRASH.
so does it mean that MAX has taken what it could get. So the Task Manager shows about 447080 Free. So was thinking why does it leave this much ram free. AT least it can take abo
That why i asked. But you are also right about it crashing and that when it occupies this where does it get more if it has too.
lol, I tried it on a couple of computers here at work. Was desperately needed as max has started crashing ALOT now that the scene is using all of the 1.5gigs max will use. Neither computer would work well, one wouldn’t boot at all, and the other started having issues, I suspect an incompatibility with network card.
Inxa you should listen to travistlo, you WILL see a seed increase. Natty I’m afraid is full of hot air today Just make sure not to set it so it uses more ram than you have or else it will start to page.
While rendering the Machine takes only 412 or 608 power of the ram and never goes to about 1 gb or any where near to it.
PLEASE do let me know how can you optimize it so that while rendering it takes the complete RAM.
if i read that right he is saying that he wants vray to use all his ram …regardless of how much he has … Now before he bought his 1gig stick he probably had 512 … which vray, max and windows took it all … now it isnt being all used he is worried this is wrong … am i right ??
The settings are in the roll out window system of the rendering diaglog box. Like Natty said you dont want it to take too much or you will crash. But if you want it to speed up a little more you can change those settings. dont do it to much or it will slow down or crash.
