making the building materials more real?

i was reading the manual, but i didn’t really see anything about buildings. the settings are almost default, im not sure if i should add reflection to the glass and metal panels? any thoughts.

As in real world the glass is reflective, so yes you should add reflection. When the glass will be reflective there should be an environment to reflect. here’s a tutorial on it Chaos: Industry-leading design and visualization software

Also, you need to take care with backgrounds. Make sure that you match the sun position with the one showing in the background. There are exceptions, but usually photographs are taken with the sun coming over the ‘photographers’ shoulder, so unless you are after a ‘striking’ effect it is best to avoid backgrounds containing the sun.

Most materials will have some reflection. Even if it’s very faint glossy reflection. It’s enough to give them that little bit extra so they don’t look so flat.
