Matte object causing artifacts with reflective objects in Vray 6 (old scene)

Hello.

I’m using the new vray 6 on max 2023 and I’m having a problem with some old scenes where I have a plane with matte properties and on top some reflective objects.
As you can see in the image the artifacts appear suronding the reflective objects but only in some places. The alpha channel renders ok.
As soon as I deactivate reflection in the material the artifacts go away.

It seems to happen only with old scenes.
I’ve already tried to reset render properties and merge al objects in a new scene but nothing seems to fix it.

What can I do to get rid those artifacts?

Hi do you happen to have an invisible VRayLight plane between the camera and the object?

I believe you hit this bug - V-Ray 6 - Dim Fall Off breaks when used with a matte. - V-Ray for 3ds Max :: Issues - Chaos Forum

Please give us a bit more details and also you could send us the scene here or though our support contact form.

Hi Vladimir. Yes I just notice that I have a light between the objects and the matte surface exactly where the artifacts happen.
I send you a sample scene.

Thanks!

Hi thanks for the scene. I tested it with our nightly build version that has the fix and so far everything seems ok. The artefacts are gone.
The fix will be available to users in the upcoming hotfix release for V-Ray 6.
You can also test the stable versions from today, the fix should be added there as well.

Cool Vladimir.
Now it’s working fine.

Thanks!
