Just wanted to post this as nowhere online could I find a conclusive answer.
I have a Meta Quest 3 using Revit + Enscape and the VR experience was terrible to use, even at draft quality. I tried to work through optimising and setting, got a new link cable. Got a WIFI 6 connection as some others said that was more reliable than the link cable (which I have found); that’s a Meta thing, not Enscap,e but it was still unable, jerky and made me sick. The images would always be flickering and noisy.
I had an RTX 3060 (12GB), which was amazing for ray-traced renders for what I needed but I didn’t know how much difference a new graphics card would make. I decided to bite the bullet and today got an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB. Did it make a difference? YES IT DID. The VR experience in ENSCAPE is totally usable now, even on ultra, it performs as I would expect and hope. Can’t wait to actually use with clients.
Now I know you’re thinking well of course, and my old card didn’t meet the specs, but it’s hard to know without actually trying it if it will work, and $1500 on a new card on a chance that it might work was a risk, but it paid off. What I would say to others if you have a mid-card from a few years and are struggling with VR quality and usability, yes, it is worth upgrading; it will become usable.
