MIP_CAMERAMAP in Vray?

I have a work of liveAction, and I do not find something similar to mip_cameramap (mentalray), im try use camera projection, but not the same effect.

Im found in forum, same question this post in 2010, but not solution. :frowning:
VRayMtlWrapper would be useful for receiving a reflection from an object. What I am trying to do is a bit different. I want to project the film plate (say of a table top) from the camera onto an object (say a model of a table) that had its primary visibility off. That way this object (the table) will not render, but an object sitting on it (say a chrome salt shaker) will properly reflect the film plate (the table top).

Here is a pic of the difference between the result of the Maya projection from the camera (wrong) and the mental ray mip_cameramap which gives the correct reflection on the sphere. This is from p 38 of the mental ray - Production Shader Library manual. What I am after is a vray node that can do what the mip_cameramap can do:

Try something like this. We should really make it more easier though, like in 3ds Max - turning on “matte for all secondary rays” should be enough, without the need to override the environment of the matte material to use projection mapping.

Vlado

Hi Vlado, Works fine! Really Thx!

Vlado is this your computer at work :)))

Hehe yes, why?

Best regards,
Vlado

It reminded me of back home (Ukraine) how we had things…

Hehe… I have to plug different things (mostly GPUs) into it so often that I just keep the case open all the time

Best regards,
Vlado
